Ed Kopko – CEO

Over a career spanning 30+ years, Ed Kopko has been an integral part of hundreds of business and real estate transactions. His experience includes financing acquisitions, capital raising, debt refinancing, going public, buyouts, managing companies, and buying and selling businesses and real estate of all types. He brings the lessons learned to the entities and properties he and the Kopko LLC family of companies invest in and help manage.

In addition to his activities at Kopko LLC, Ed currently serves as Chairman and CEO of Mercury Z LLC and ULL Networks LLC. Previously Ed served as the chairman and CEO of Butler International and its subsidiaries, including Butler Aviation, for 23 years. In that time he keyed successful partnerships with companies like Sikorsky, Boeing, AT&T, Caterpillar, and Verizon can attest and provided a host of innovative technology and finance applications.

Ed has served on the boards of a variety of civic and industry organizations like National Technical Services Association, Ramapo College Presidents Council and Foundation, Northern New Jersey Boy Scouts of America Board Council and the Helen Heyes Theatre Company, where he served as Board President. He was also CEO and publisher of Chief Executive Magazine. A prolific writer on business matters, Ed’s writings have appeared in The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, and Detroit Free Press.

Ed holds an M.A. in Economics from Columbia University.


Lenore Petteruti Kopko – Managing Director

Lenore Petteruti Kopko has over 25 years’ experience in Alternative Investments, with a focus on Hedge Funds, Credit, and Structured Credit. Her experience has ranged across Portfolio Management, Manager Due Diligence, Business Development, and Operations, including the development of investment infrastructure.

Most recently, Lenore was a Managing Director and Global Head of Hedge Fund portfolios, which totaled $6B in assets across various investment mandates. She also Chaired J.P. Morgan’s Hedge Fund Advisory Council, which was responsible for the Private Banks’ Hedge Fund asset allocation, manager selection, and risk management.

Prior to joining J.P. Morgan, Lenore was the Chief Portfolio Strategist at CQS LLC, a London based hedge fund manager specializing in global credit and structured credit. At CQS, Lenore led the firm’s involvement in constructing customized portfolios for institutional and ultra-high net worth clients. Before CQS, Lenore was the Chief Risk Officer at Corbin Capital Partners, LLC, a Fund of Hedge Funds specializing in liquid and illiquid alternatives, with a focus on hedge funds and direct investments. Prior to Corbin, she was the Chief Investment Officer for Mezzacappa Management LLC, a Fund of Funds that managed customized portfolios for both institutional and ultra high net worth clients.

She began her career at J.P. Morgan Chase as a Credit Officer, originating bank loans for non investment grade borrowers.

Lenore holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Economics from Brown University. She is also active in Brown University Alumni affairs.


Doug Rifenburg – General Manager

Doug brings years of construction and property management expertise to Kopko Properties. Prior to joining Kopko Properties, Doug worked in municipal and commercial construction as a project manager and client support. Doug’s previous roles included stints with Johnson Controls, Georgia-Pacific and Herring & Riverbank Construction. A graduate of The Cameron School of Business at University of North Carolina at Wilmington, Doug also served 8 years in the US Army working in Military Intelligence internationally.
